Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I was so wishin' and hopin' and thinkin' and prayin' that 2022 would be a return to adventure, travel, eating in restaurants, enjoying indoor venues and seeing distant friends and family.  But sadly it is not to be. At least not yet.  For now, the travel tapestry of  immersing ourselves in new cultures, peoples, never before tasted foods and new geographies are once again put off to the future. But hope springs eternal and I want to be prepared for when the light turns green.  I devour travel brochures as literature, binge on travel shows and also international house hunting programs(a personal favorite).  I scan the internet for recipes I have never tried before but are a staple of a land we plan to visit.   I’m even trying to learn a new language in hopes that I will get to use it sometime soon.

Will we be able to travel (ever)? Will you feel safe going? How about once you get there?  Will we even be admitted to countries we want to visit?  I have to feel hopeful that the day is coming.  My other concerns are will my husband and I remain healthy and ambulatory enough to do all the things we are hoping to do.? Time is marching on.

My husband and I are lucky enough to live where we have very good weather and lots of places to visit within a few hours drive.  We’ve been fortunate to take several road trips this last year when Covid numbers were down before cloistering again.   I’m hoping you were able to do likewise.

Let’s look forward to 2022!  Even while we are waiting and preparing for future adventures there is so much that we can do and share.  Let’s get to it!  A happy and healthy 2022 to all!
