Tip: Lost Suitcase? Always Have a Change of Clothes
It’s pretty bad when your suitcase is lost. Sometimes there is nothing you can do about it. Once my suitcase wound up floating up and down the Amazon for nearly a day while some poor individual’s luggage wound up in my room at my lodge. When his suitcase was picked up I found out that he was moving onto another part of the country. He must not have been too happy either.
I have a very petite friend who was traveling to France for the first time whose suitcase didn’t catch up to her for several days. While shopping in Paris might sound like fun, it wasn’t the holiday she imagined. Finding clothes in her size was never an easy task even when shopping in the U.S. Plus, she was never a big shopper to begin with.
I always pack a complete change of clothes in my carry-on. It might not be my most desirable outfit but it will get me through at least one more day. If I am going somewhere a swimsuit is essential, I will tuck away a suit as well.
If I am traveling with my husband, we also trade some clothes to be packed in each other’s suitcases.
Bottom line. If you aren’t carrying on your suitcase make sure that you have a change in the bag you are taking on the flight and/or if traveling with a partner, trade an outfit to be packed in each other’s luggage.
Happy and safe travels to you!
